The Students of Lincoln College

The college experience is about people. Enrollment at Lincoln College is 700 students. Lincoln College truly is a global community. Students come from nearly half the states in the United States and many foreign countries including China, Sweden, Japan, Norway, England, Australia, and France. Approximately 10% of students are from urban settings, 30% are from rural areas, and 60% are from suburbs. There are slightly more men comprising the student population than women.

When students aren't sharing stories about their lives back home you can find them studying, attending classes and participating in intramural or intercollegiate sports like basketball, soccer, swimming, and golf. Some of our students perform in vocal and band ensembles, dance and theater groups and others are active in art or in student government.

Lincoln College offers all this in addition to a successful academic program which will prepare you for transfer to a four-year college or university.

Student Faculty Ratio

Lincoln College maintains a personal and individualized approach to education with a student-faculty ratio of 13 to 1. This allows instructors to become acquainted with their students on a personal level, which has been proven effective for Lincoln College students.

Class Size

The average class size at Lincoln College is 16. Many classes are closed upon reaching 20 students. Professors and students are allowed opportunities to extend relationships beyond lecture presentations.

Enrollment

Lincoln College contains its enrollment by design. Students must live on campus unless their parent or legal guardian is within reasonable commuting distance. Admissions are determined by the availability of housing. Approximately 90% of the student body is involved with the campus community 24 hours a day. The majority of our graduates go on to complete a bachelors degree within two more years, a much higher percentage than found at community colleges or four-year colleges and universities.

Lincoln College's personal approach to education yields impressive results:

  • 75% of students accepted at Lincoln College will graduate in two years.
  • 90% of graduates transfer immediately to a four-year institution, where they succeed as well as or better than the native students at that institution.
