Academic Writing Seminar
Excellent writing skills are essential in college and beyond. To help you strengthen your writing, we offer an Academic Writing Seminar (AWS) the week before Fall semester begins. 
What will I learn in AWS?
You'll learn:
- Research and expository writing skills
- Essay organization
- How to conduct research using online databases and university libraries
- How to think and write critically
- Brain storming techniques
Will I earn college credit?
Yes. You will earn one hour of college credit towards your degree when you successfully complete AWS.
Is homework assigned?
Yes. To put your new skills to work you'll write one research paper using MLA citation and one expository paper.
How do I register?
Download the registration form, complete the fields and mail to Lincoln College. Don't forget to include the $500 registration fee payable by check or money order. AWS registration form - PDF 137 KB
What if I need to cancel my registration?
Enrollment for the seminar is limited to 80 students. In order to
obtain a full refund, all cancellations must be made 48 hours prior
to Sunday registration. This allows students on the wait list enough
time to make the necessary arrangements to attend.
