First Year Experience
All
first-time entering freshmen at Lincoln College are required to
enroll in First Year Experience. This course is designed
to assist the first-time college student through the transition
from
high
school
to college.
The class is intended to cover topics not only relevant to the
classroom transition but also the non-curricular adjustments that
all first year college students will encounter. With the completion
of this course all students should be well prepared to be a successful
student and citizen of the Lincoln College community. Topics covered
in FYE include the following.

awareness
- Study skills and
organization
- Learning styles and strategies
- Critical and creative
thinking
- Alcohol and drug awareness
- Communication skills
and conflict management
- Coping, stress and physical/mental
health
- Gender and diversity
issues
- Future planning - career and transfer
options
