The McKinstry Memorial
Library supports the mission of Lincoln College. Since the development
and improvement of students’ library skills are important, the library
staff offers guidance and assistance along with individual, small
group, and classroom instruction.
The library holds approximately 35,000 books; over 300 print and
microform journals, magazines, and newspaper titles; a variety
of databases with access
to thousands of electronic periodicals and other sources of information;
and a special Abraham Lincoln book collection.
Patrons can utilize Internet accessible computers for research
and word processing, microfilm readers and printers, VCRs,
and copy machines.
The library is also the home to the McKinstry Rare Book Room, the Lincoln
College Museum, and the Museum of the Presidents which was named
"one of the 10 best Lincoln-related sites in Illinois" by
Illinois-NOW! travel magazine.
The Tutoring
Center and the Layman Art Gallery are also found in McKinstry
Library. The gallery is open to the public and showcases student
and guest artists' works throughout the year.
