Academic Programs
Lincoln
College offers a
general education curriculum so students can earn an
Associate's degree. The majority of students pursue
this pre-baccalaureate degree since Lincoln College prides itself
on preparing students to attend a four-year college. Degrees offered
include the following.
Associate
in Arts - A.A. Degree
Requirements
The Associate in Arts degree (A.A.) is designed so that students
may complete the lower-division portion
of a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.), in such majors as liberal
arts and sciences, (English, fine arts, history, psychology), and
many others. This
degree includes transferable general education courses in the areas
of
language
and humanities, science, mathematics, social science, computer
science, and physical education/health.
Associate in Science - A.S.
Degree Requirements
The Associate in Science degree (A.S.) is designed so
that students may complete the lower-division portion of a Bachelor
of Science (B.S.) degree, in such majors as mathematics,
science, agriculture, business, education, and many others. This
degree includes the transferable general education courses
in the
areas
of language and humanities, mathematics, social science, computer
science, and physical education/health.
Associate in General Studies - A.G.S. Degree
Requirements
The Associate in General Studies degree (A.G.S.) is designed for
students not intending to continue formal study beyond the junior
college
level and students for whom another degree does not seem appropriate.
While coursework included in the program may transfer to a four-year
college, the requirements for the General Studies degree do not
satisfy general education requirements in most four-year colleges.
Nursing
Lincoln College has created a cooperative program for students
interested in nursing. Any student who completes the prescribed,
two-year course of study at Lincoln College with a 2.5 grade point
average
or better
and is recommended by the faculty, may normally expect admission
for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree to the Mennonite College
of Nursing at Illinois State University in Normal, IL, St. John's
College of Nursing, in Springfield, IL or St. Francis College of
Nursing, in Peoria, IL.
Dual Enrollment - Two Plus Two
Lincoln College has cooperative programs with Eastern
Illinois University, Illinois State University, Southern Illinois
University, Western Illinois University, University of Illinois
at Springfield, and other colleges. Through these programs, Lincoln
College students follow specific curriculum choices during their
first two
years of study which aids in successful transfer to specific majors.
Travel Abroad Program
Lincoln College recognizes the overall educational value
of providing and encouraging students to participate in global studies
programs. In addition to classroom studies, we have designed several
opportunities for students to travel and earn additional academic
credit for their experiences. Learn about the
travel opportunities.
