Abroad
Lincoln College recognizes
the overall educational value of providing and encouraging students
to participate in global studies programs. In addition to classroom
studies, we have designed several opportunities for students to travel
and earn additional academic credit for their experiences.
Habitat for Humanity
Location: Florida or Georgia
Dates: March 14-18, 2005
Approximate Cost: $500
Credit: 1 hour of independent study
Have fun and do community service at the same time.
Travel with Jen Ciaccio during spring break and participate
in the Habitat
for Humanity's Collegiate Challenge. Students spend the week of
their break working on construction with a Habitat for Humanity
affiliate. This program is designed
to provide an educational and inspiration experience for
participants.
The itinerary will be balanced with work, recreational activities
and free time.

Tropical Ecology: Visions
of the Brazilian Pantanal Region
Location: Brazil
Dates: May 15-26, 2005
Approximate Cost: $1800 - $1950
Credit: 1 hour of life science
Experience the worlds' largest wetlands with Dr. Pamela Moriearty
in a ten-day tour of Brazil's wilderness Pantanal region. Highlights of the
trip
include: horseback trek, photo safari, riverboat trip, night safari, modern
accommodations with guides from Lincoln College and Brazilian University.

Natural History of Australia
Location: Australia
Dates: May 23 - June 6, 2005
Approximate Cost: $4500 - $5000
Credit: 2 hours of life science
Explore the many natural and cultural wonders of Australia with Dr.
Dennis Campbell. Professor Campbell traveled to Australia in 1975 as a Commonwealth
Scholar and lived there for six years, obtaining his PhD in Zoology from the
University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Tour highlights include:
diving and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, visiting a museum, botanical
park, aquarium, coast and harbor tours in Sydney; tropical rainforest train,
sky rail and 4-wheel drive tours near Cairns; Ayers Rock and Aboriginal heritage
tours, Alice Springs and desert park tours; first class accommodations and meals
with Lincoln College and Australian guides.

European Mosaic
Location: England, France, Austria, and Hungary
Dates: May 23 - June 6, 2005

Credit: 1 hour of independent study
Paula Knopp will escort you to Central Europe for a 16-day tour of England,
France, Austria, and Hungary. Tour highlights include: Big Ben, Buckingham Palace,
Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedra, Louvre, Budapest Basilica, Esterhazy Castle,
and Schonbrunn Palace.

Independent Travel
Location: Where you choose
Credit: 1 - 2 hours of independent study
If you plan to travel with friends or family, you may be eligible to
receive college credit for your experience. You must enroll in this program prior
to your travel dates.
