Lynx Head Coach – Tony Thomas

Coach Thomas is entering his fifteenth season at Lincoln College.  A graduate of Argenta-Oreana High School, Thomas played and lettered all four years of varsity baseball while earning all-conference as well as All-Macon County his last two years under Coach Tom Saunches.  Thomas continued his academic and baseball career at Lincoln College, under the direction of former LC Coach and current Murray State Coach Rob McDonald, where he earned his A.A. degree.  Thomas continued his education at Millikin University in Decatur, his hometown.  He received his B.S. in Physical Education and lettered two years in baseball.  He was honored as a C.C.I.W. all-conference shortstop for Millikin and was named Most Improved Player during his senior season.  Coach Thomas played two summers for the Decatur Blues of the Central Illinois Collegiate League (CICL).  He also coached one season for the Blues and the Springfield Rifles. 

His experience includes being an assistant for the Lincoln Heat baseball program for four summers; including this year when he coached his nine year old son Ryan.   Thomas has been active with the Legion Post 263 program for the past four years and served in the assistant and head coach capacity.  He is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association.  Thomas previously served as  an assistant at Lincoln College for three years before being named Head Coach in 1993.  He teaches, advises and is the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. 

Coach Tony Thomas and his wife Bridgett have three children and a new grandson:  Brittany, Brileigh  and Ryan and the new arrival, Ashton.   Thomas says he’s learned a lot from Lincoln College.  “It’s has given not only myself but many former and current player a great start to their college career.  LC is a perfect place for any young athlete to begin a successful career because it provides a solid foundation to build upon.”

Lynx Assistant Coach - John Stoltzenburg

Coach Stoltzenburg is entering his thirteenth season as an assistant at Lincoln College.  He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1990 where he played basketball and baseball for four years.  Coach Stoltzenburg continued both his academic and athletic careers at Lincoln College then went on Millikin University, where he lettered both years and was co-captain his senior year.  Coach Stoltzenburg also played three summers with the Bloomington Bobcats.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree at Illinois State University.

Coach Stoltzenburg works primarily with pitchers and also assists with hitters and recruiting.  His experience includes coaching for the Lincoln summer baseball program, Lincoln Heat and the Lincoln Legion Post 263.  He is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association.

John and his wife Angie live in Lincoln.








Lynx Assistant Coach - Ryne Komnick

Coach Komnick is entering his third year as an Assistant.  Komnick was a multi-sport, basketball and baseball, player at Lincoln High School.   Komnick is a great asset to the LC program, and he brings knowledge of the game as well as youth to the coaching staff.  His quick desire to learn has proven to be effective with the LC players. 

He will coach at first base and help with all aspects of the LC program.  He is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association.  He also is an Adult Resident Counselor in the resident’s halls and helps with the intramurals program.

 

 


Adam YorkLynx Assistant Coach - Adam York

Coach York is entering his first season as an assistant. York played baseball for Lincoln College where he earned an Associates degree. He continued his baseball career at Webster University in St. Louis where he earned a Bachelors degree. During his time at Webster, he was named Conference Player of the Year and finished sixth in the nation for doubles per game. He served as the team captain his senior year and was selected to play centerfielder in the first team all conference action. Coach York, who is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, will work with all aspects of the game.
