Lynx Split with Lincoln Land Tony Eckhart threw a four hit shutout to lead Lincoln College to a doubleheader split against Lincoln Land at Galen Shirley Field Thursday afternoon. Eckhart walked two and struck out two in going the distance for Coach Tony Thomas. The victory gives LC a 4-13 record and a 1-2 mark in conference play. The Lynx scored three times in the second inning and added two more in the third and Eckhart made the runs stand up. Jake Jones connected for a pair of hits in three trips to the plate and collected an RBI. Tim McWilliams and Josh Davison each had RBI singles for the Lynx. Lincoln Land won the opener of the doubleheader, 3-1. Matt Miller was the tough luck loser, going six innings, giving up three hits and two runs, while striking out four and walking two. Bryan Rynearson had a pair of hits to lead the Lynx, who had just four hits in the game. The Lynx scored their lone run in the first inning and Lincoln Land pushed across single runs in the third, fourth and seventh innings. "We had several chances in the first game, but we couldn't get the big hit," said Coach Thomas. |
