Team Defeats Springfield College in Opener

Lincoln College and Springfield College split a pair of baseball games at Galen Shirley Field in Lincoln Thursday afternoon with the Lynx winning the opener, 4-0, behind Scott Aeschelman. SCI came back to win the second game, 5-2.

Aeschelman gave up four hits while striking out two and walking two. "It was good for us to get a few runs for Scott, he has been throwing the ball really well," said Coach Tony Thomas.

Tyler Casson led a nine hit attack for the Lynx with three safeties, including a double, a run scored and an RBI. Brian Rynearson had a pair of hits, including a double with two runs scored for the Lynx. Brad Hall, Jake Jones, Alex Brown and Nick Meredith each had one hit.

Six different players collected on hit each in the second game for Lincoln College and Nick Kidwell took the loss. Casson, Adam York, Hall, Wright, Jones and Meredith had the Lynx hits.
