Lynx Drop Season Opener

POPLAR BLUFFS, MO. - Three Rivers defeated Lincoln College 69-61 in the opening game of the season for the Lynx here Saturday night.   Three Rivers built a 43-30 lead at half-time and the Lynx were not able to recover.
 
Three Lincoln College players were in double figures, led by Aaron Williams with 12.  Rodney Williams tallied 11 points and Tony Gulley had 10 for Coach B. J. McCullum.  Three Rivers also had three players in double figures with Terrence Smith leading the way with 11 points.
 
Three Rivers made 16 of 27 field goals in the first half, shooting nearly 60 percent.   The Lynx limited the hosts to just 29 percent shooting in the second half.   Lincoln College shot 31 percent the first half and 36 percent the second half.  Three Rivers had a commanding edge on the boards, 50-27.  
Free throws helped keep the Lynx in the game as they hit 21 of 35 shots while the hosts were making 12 of 21.
