Second Loss at TRCC Tournament

POPLAR BLUFFS, MO. -  Mineral Area shot 57 percent from the floor as they handed Lincoln College a 72-59 loss in the TRCC Classic here Sunday afternoon.    The Lynx (0-2) will open the home season against Carl Sandburg Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
 
Jeff Carlson led the Lynx with 16 points, including four of four from three point land.   The only other Lincoln College player to reach double figures was Aaron Williams with 10.  Lorenzo Gordon topped the Mineral Area scoring with 16 points.
 
Lincoln College stayed in the game in the first half by making six of seven shots from three point range, however, they were only able to make 6 of 24 shots from two point range.     The Lynx finished the game shooting 31 percent.  From three point range, they shot 47 percent. 
 
Mineral Area also outrebounded Lincoln College, 44-34.  Rueben Trotter and Jason Moore led LC with eight boards each.
