Lynx Clench Season Opener

DIXON - Lincoln College opened the women's basketball season with a 71-56 victory over Sauk Valley here Saturday afternoon.    The Lynx will be at home Tuesday against Carl Sandburg.
 
Sauk Valley held a 26-24 lead after the first half, before Lincoln College poured in 47 second half points to race to victory.  The Lynx used balanced scoring in the second half as Erica Ernst led the way with 13 points followed by Jessica Hamman and Jehnyah Leach with eight each.  Brittany Ingram chipped in with seven second half points and Erica Rodgers added six.
 
Ernst led the Lynx with 19 points while Ingram finished with 10.  Nine of the Lynx players cracked the scoring column for Coach Carl Wilson.  Shiaras led the Sauk Valley scoring with 19 while Bach added 14.
