Carl Sandburg Upsets Lynx

Galesburg - Carl Sandburg handed the Lincoln College Lady Lynx a 56-43 setback in basketball action here Wednesday night. LC, now 4-4, will play at home Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Sauk Valley.

Carl Sandburg only outscored the Lynx by two field goals, but won the game at the foul line as they connected on 18 of 30 attempts while Lincoln College was limited to 10 of 20. Swick, of Carl Sandburg, connected on 11 of 17 foul shots and added six field goals to take game scoring honors with 23 points. Camill joined her teammate in double figures with 12.

Jessica Hamman led Lincoln College with 16 points and was joined in double figures by Carmen Weaver with 10. All but two of Hamman's points were scored in the second half as Lincoln College was limited to 11 points in the first 20 minutes of play. Carl Sandburg led by a 24-11 margin at the half.
