WEST FRANKFORT - Rend Lake claimed the Region 24 women's golf championship with a team score of 683  while John Logan finished second with a 719 total and Lincoln College was third at 822.

Leading the way for Lincoln College with a two day total of 193 was Amber Wright.   Amber shot a first round score of 92 and followed with a 101.

Other scores for Coach Kirk Whiteman's team were Sarah Morine 204, Stacy Weaver 212, Carlie Facker 214 and Lindsey Horath 219.

"Our girls picked a bad time to play poorly," said Whiteman.  "We dug ourselves a hole on the first day and the winds affected everyone's score on the second day.   I was pleased with the way the three freshmen played on the final day and I am excited to have this nucleus returning for next season."
