Women's Soccer Advance to Region's Second Round

SPRINGFIELD - Megan Gray took a pass from Amy Schultz in the 134th minute of play and knocked in a 20 yard shot to lead the Lincoln College women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Springfield in the Region 24 tournament here Tuesday afternoon.    Lincoln College advances to the second round and will ply Lewis & Clark at 2 p.m. Thursday in Godfrey.
 
Lincoln College jumped in front with a goal from Samantha Marcus in the 11th minute of the first half and maintained the lead until the final minute of the half when Amanda Reed tied the score.   In the 50th minute of play, Elise Sommerfeld scored an unassisted goal to put the Lynx back on top only to have Amber Walkenbach head in a shot from Kristi Hilan with three minutes to play.
