Coach Wurth is entering her first season as head coach of the Lady Lynx softball program at Lincoln College. She has been the pitching coach and assistant for Lincoln College Program for the past five seasons.
Crystal grew up in Lincoln, Illinois and attended Lincoln Community High School and Lincoln College. While at LC she lettered in volleyball and softball. Crystal then transferred to Webster University in St. Louis where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education with a minor in history and political science. She also lead the Webster softball team to two consecutive NCAA tournaments. Her overall individual pitching record while at WU was 52-11. Crystal was the team MVP for 2001 and 2002.
Since college, Crystal has been coaching local pitchers for the past eight years. Coach Wurth is working on her Master’s Degree in Liberal and Integrative Studies with an emphasis is Social History at the University of Illinois at Springfield. She resides in Beason, Illinois with her husband Lewis and sons Aden, Brenden and daughter Madisen.

Assitant Coach - Nichole Komnick
Nichole Komnick, formally, Nichole Laylock, was a 2004 graduate of Maroa- Forsyth High School, where she was a multi sport athlete (softball and Basketball). Nichole continued her softball career after high school for the Lady Lynx in 2005- 2006. After graduating, from Lincoln College in 2006, Nichole attended the University of Illinois in Springfield while working in the residential halls at Lincoln College. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from UIS in 2009
Nichole is rejoining the Lynx. This will be her third season as assistant coach of the Lady Lynx Softball Team. She currently is employed at Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois Early Head Start. She resides in Lincoln, IL with her husband Ryne.
Assitant Coach - Tara Morris
Tara Morris is entering her first season as Assistant Coach of the Lincoln College Softball Team. She grew up in Lincoln, IL and graduated from Lincoln Community High School and went on to study nursing at Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing in 2001.
Tara’s experience in nursing began at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in the Heat/ Lung Transplant unit. She then became a Pediatric Intensive Care traveling nurse, spending time in Oklahoma City, Ok, Tallahassee, FL and St. Petersburg, FL. She returned to Central Illinois in 2005 and is currently an Emergency Room Nurse at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She resides in Lincoln with her Husband, Dwane and three children, Thomas, Arianna and TJ.
