Lynx Defeat Millikin JV Lincoln College banged out 20 hits in defeating Millikin JV in a pair of softball wins at Lincoln Monday afternoon. The Lynx won the opener, 11-10, and took the nightcap, 6-3. The Lynx now stand at 11-13 for the season. The Lynx won the opening game by scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, after Millikin had taken the lead with a pair of runs in the top half of the inning. Jennifer Clemings had the game winning hit for the Lynx, following a double by Beth Smith and a triple off the bat of Ashley Shaw. " We battled back after getting down early in the game and then again in the eighth inning," said Coach John Andrews. "That's what I like about this team, we don't give up." Smith and Nicole Dearing each had three hits in the opener while Shaw, Clemings and Christie Frasco had two hits each. Shaw had three RBI in the contest. Nader was able to get out of several jams and picked up her fifth
victory of the season to go with six losses. "Our defense got
us out of several jams in the second game," said Andrews. Dearing
and Shaw led the offense with a pair of hits each.
