Volleyball Team Falls in Season Opener

 

DANVILLE - Lincoln College opened its volleyball season here Wednesday night as the host school posted a victory by scores of 30-24, 30-25 and 30-24.   The Lynx will aim for their first victory of the season Thursday as they play host to Illinois Valley Community College at 6:30 p.m.  

Christy Raymer led the Lady Lynx with 25 set assists, five points and one ace.  Melissa Brassard recorded nine points, four kills and one block while Kristin Majka had five kills and five points.

"We played a pretty solid match," said Coach Mark Tippett.  "We had some of the first game jitters and we hurt ourselves, especially early in the match.   I was pleased with our serving consistency and our passing was excellent.   It was a good learning experience and I was really pleased with the effort."
