Lynx Defeat Illinois Valley Lincoln College raised its volleyball record to 3-1 with a victory over Illinois Valley Community College at Lincoln Thursday night. The Lynx won the opening game by a 30-26 score, before dropping the second by a 30-21 margin. Lincoln College then came back to take the next two games, 30-28 and 30-22. "We played a solid match from beginning to end," said Coach Mark Tippett. "In our last match, we kind of let down when we made a mistake. Tonight, we didn't do that. We played with a lot more intensity and were able to rebound from our errors. It was a great team effort in front of a packed gym, and our crowed really helped motivate our players." Kristen Meminger had an outstanding game with 12 kills, seven digs and three points. Rosie Miller had 17 set assists and 11 points while Sarah Klawitter had 12 set assists. Erica Lill contributed nine kills, two blocks and eight points while Kristin Majka had nine kills and nine points. Lincoln College will be in action Saturday in Decatur at the Millikin JV tri-match. # # # # # |
