Team Defeats Lewis & Clark

Lincoln College bounced back from a Saturday loss to defeat Lewis & Clark in conference volleyball action at Lincoln Monday night in five games. The victory evens the Lynx record at 2-2 in the Central Illinois Conference and to 7-4 overall.

Lincoln College won the opening game by a 30-14 score, however, Lewis & Clark came back to take the next two matches by scores of 32-30 and 30-18. The Lynx were then able to take the fourth game by a 30-21 score and then won the deciding fifth game, 15-11.

Rosie Miller led the Lynx with 24 set assists, 14 points and one kill. Kristen Meminger had seven kills, two blocks and 16 points, Amber Stewart had three kills and a pair of set assists while Erica Lill had six kills, two blocks and two points.

" It was great to get back on the winning side after a bad game Saturday," said Coach Mark Tippett. "We passed the ball extremely well in the first game and got the win. ;We lost a little concentration in the second and third games but it was great to see us get it back for the rest of the match. We haven't been doing that in the past, it seems as if we get down and stay down, but not tonight. This is definitely one to build on."

The Lynx will play at Illinois Valley Community College Tuesday and will participate in an 11 team regional tourney in Springfield Saturday.
