Lincoln College split a pair of volleyball matches at Lincoln Saturday, defeating Danville in three game after losing to Millikin JV in four games to start the day. The Lynx will play Springfield College at 7 p.m. Monday in the opening round of the Region 24 tourney at the Laughlin Center on the campus of Lincoln Christian College.

Millikin JV outlasted the Lynx in the opening match of the day by scores of 31-29, 30-19, 18-30, 30-25. Lincoln College then came back to beat Danville by scores of 30-25, 30-20, 30-14. Millikin also beat Danville in a match that went five games.

Leading the Lynx on sophomore day were Kristin Majka with 24 kills, 10 blocks and 18 points; Kristen Meminger with 11 kills, eight digs and 10 points; Rosie Miller with 41 set assists, seven digs and 10 points; Samantha McCoy with five kills, three blocks and six digs; Jennifer Stedman with two digs and three points; and Cara Willey with two kills, seven digs and 11 points.

"The match against Millikin was hard fought from beginning to end," said Coach Mark Tippett. "We let leads slip away in the first and fourth games which was the difference in the match. I was pleased with the way we bounced back and defeated Danville. Our sophomores really played with intensity and a lot of heart. It was a great way to finish our regular season."
