Lynx Close Season - Sophomores Will Be Missed

DANVILLE - Danville ended the Lincoln College volleyball season in Region 24 tourney play here Monday night by downing the Lynx by the scores of 30-9, 24-30, 31-29, 30-16.

Rosie Miller had 11 points and seven set assists to lead the Lynx while Jessica Livezey had six kills and six points.  Ashley Hanson scored seven points with four aces while Sam McCoy had four digs.

Coach Mark Tippett said, "We started slowly but picked it up in the second and third games.  The girls played hard and I was proud of their effort.  It was a tough way to end the season, but I feel good about how we performed this year.  The past few weeks have been hard on the girls since losing Melissa, but they did a great job of representing Lincoln College during the final weeks of the season.

"I will miss the sophomores who  we lost to graduation (Raymer, Jones, Hanson, Livezey and Hammond) but we have several strong players returning for next year and that gives me reason to be confident we can improve on our performance next season."
