Lynx Lose to Millikin JV Team

The Lincoln College volleyball team lost to Millikin's Junior Varsity team in Decatur on Tuesday night. The Lynx won the first two games 30-22 and 30-26 but faltered losing the third 30-11, the fourth 31-33 and the fifth 11-15.

Beth Applen had 17 assists and 11 points; Chelsea Faith 11 points, 3 aces, 19 digs, 7 kills; Amber Stewart had 7 kills, 5 points, 10 digs; Erica Lill had 4 blocks, 4 kills, 3 points.

Coach Tippett said, “We played a very good match. The first two games we really clicked. We played up to our capability.” In game three we really lost focus, and just never got on track. Unfortunately, that carried over to game four. We were behind for most of that game, but we rallied, and made a match of it. I was very pleased with that. Earlier we’ve let those matches get away with us. In game 5, we had a few minor mistakes that we were never able to recover from.
It’s unfortunate we didn’t get a win out of it, but the team got a positive feel out of it.
