Men and Women take 2nd at the Chief Invite The men’s and women’s cross country season got off to a good start at the Chie’s Invite help in Sugar Grove. Both the men and the women placed second at the ten team invite. Coach Herron said,”I thought we did a good job today. We held out one of our top three runners on both sides so it could have been even closer than what it was. I think we are better as a team than what we were a year ago at this same point in the season. It should be an exciting season if they keep working hard and the freshmen develop like they should.” Placing in the top 15 for the Lady Lynx was Melissa Vandolah (13th),Brittany Jibben(9th) and Tari Fisk(8th). Placing in the top 15 for the men was Justin Critchelow (14th),Chris Lanhum (8th) and Kyle Staley (4th). The cross country team will be in action again this Friday at the Illinois Intercollegiate Meet hosted by Illinois State University (ISU) at the ISU golf course. The race will start at 5 p.m.
