Music
Lincoln College offers a variety of opportunities in the Music
Department. Courses in music include piano, voice, private instrumental
lessons, musical theatre, and music theory. There are also performance
groups student's can join. These groups include the following.
Dynamics is the College Concert
Choir. It is the largest organization on campus and open to all
singers.
The group presents concerts on campus and television , performing
all styles of music. All members of small choral ensembles are
required to be a member of the Lincoln College chorale.
Sophitikatz is a women’s ensemble presenting music of Broadway,
movies, and Torch Songs. Costuming is provided by the college.
The ensemble performs both on campus and at various functions around
the state. Membership is by audition.
Harmony is an ensemble of college men
who enjoy singing. They perform, on
state tours
and in college productions, choreographed music from pop to
rock. Membership is by audition.
The Jazz Ensemble is the premiere
instrumental ensemble on campus, performing music from big band
to classic rock. They present
concerts on campus with other jazz ensembles from across the
state.
