Theatre Scholarship Criteria
Lincoln College offers a variety
of scholarships for participation in
the theatre department. Prospective or current students can audition
for scholarships by
contacting the Theatre Department and
scheduling audition times during the
year. The current
Lincoln College theatre faculty grants all scholarships.
Acting
Students auditioning for acting scholarships must come prepared with two memorized monologues. The monologues should be contrasting (comedy/drama, classic/contemporary, really angry/slightly angry, anything to show your range) and should be no longer than three minutes total. Please choose scripts from stage drama (no movie scripts or self-written monologues!). Feel free to email the theatre faculty if you need help finding a monologue. Students can provide letters of recommendation and resumes and are also interviewed before and after the audition.
(The theatre faculty understand how nerve-racking an audition can be but want to make the experience as stress-free as possible. Remember the faculty is looking for a positive attitude, preparation, and a willingness to try as much as they are for talent! Relax, you’ll do great!)
Technical Theatre
Students should come prepared
to discuss
their previous
technical experience in lighting, sound, construction, etc.
It is also
helpful if students bring a portfolio of their previous work.
