Theatre
Welcome to the Theatre Program at Lincoln College!
Lincoln College Theatre offers a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Theatre (this is a Generalist degree, which means that you will learn about every aspect of Theatre). We are the only 4-year degree on the Lincoln campus, and we are proud of that! This program has only been in existence for a few years, so as a Theatre Major you will be involved in shaping your education! Unlike a larger program, we can cater the content of our courses to your specific interests. Want to know more about Euripides? Medieval Cycle Plays? Theatre in Chicago? We will design classes around you!
We are a small program, which means that you don’t have to compete with hundreds of other theatre majors for parts and design positions. You can play a leading role in the first play for which you audition! Want to design? We will have you designing during your first year. We believe that experience is the best teacher, and work to provide you with as much experience as possible during your 4 years with us.
If you want to get a head-start on your career, give us a call and schedule a time to visit our campus. We are looking forward to talking with you about your goals, and how we can help you achieve them!
Production Schedule
Lincoln College Theatre produces four theatrical productions during the school year. There are two plays performed in the first semester and two plays (one being a musical) performed during the second semester. Since most plays are relatively large cast productions, usually 30 to 50 students have roles during each semester. Auditions and technical assignments are open to all Lincoln College students.
