Mathematics
Most careers today require a solid background in mathematics. The Lincoln College mathematics department welcomes the opportunity to assist those students pursuing a degree in mathematics education or other disciplines which require higher-level mathematics such as business, computer science, chemistry, engineering, physics, medicine, research, or social sciences.
As a math major, you’ll study this “language” and learn how to use it to describe the world. You’ll explore calculus, modern algebra, and other high-level math in the purest light. If you love to solve math problems just to know the answer and enjoy using abstract concepts to discover whether something is true or false, this could be the major for you.
The math department consists of highly experienced faculty committed to helping each student successfully complete the math course or courses most appropriate for his/her desired field of study.
Math majors study quantities, forms, and symbolic logic in such subjects as algebra, geometry, calculus, logic, topology, and number theory.
