LC Baseball Drop First Round Game
Springfield, IL - After trailing ICC 7-0 after three innings, the Lincoln College baseball team battled back but couldn’t make it all the way back as they dropped a Region 24 first round game 7-6 on Thursday at Lanphier Park in Springfield, IL. The Lynx face Danville Area College on Friday in an elimination game at 12:00pm at Lanphier Park. If Lincoln can win Friday, they will play again on Saturday at 12:00pm.

LC Baseball Team Opens Play in Region 24 Tournament Against ICC
Springfield, IL – The Lincoln College baseball team will open Region 24 tournament play on Thursday, May 16 against ICC at 4:00pm in Springfield, IL at Lanphier Park.

LC Baseball Sweeps Spoon River 3-1; 9-0
Lincoln, IL The Lincoln College baseball team swept Spoon River 3-1 and 9-0 to move to 18-16 on year. The Lynx received great pitching from Cody Bolen and Anthony Jerral. In game one Lincoln scored all three runs in the first and held on to take the win. In game two, Lincoln’s bats heated up scoring nine runs with Derek Breit providing the big blow with a grand slam.
Lincoln will take on Spoon River on Tuesday, ICC on Friday and Saturday and will be in Region 24 tournament action next Thursday, May 16 in Springfield, IL.

LC Baseball Completes 4-Game Sweep of John Wood
Lincoln, IL – The Lincoln College Lynx baseball team completed its 4-game sweep of John Wood Community College yesterday at Galen Shirley Field in Lincoln, IL. Lincoln College won both games by the score of 8-4. The Lynx improved their overall record to 14-13 and 7-11 in the MWAC.

LC Baseball Takes Two from John Wood
Lincoln College swept John Wood on Sunday 10-2 in 12 innings and 11-4. Ryan Rickert (Fort Wayne, IN) picked up the wins in game one in relief of starter Cody Bolen (Hartem) and Chance Simpson (Lewistown, IL) in game two.

Lynx Baseball Drop 3 of 4
The Lincoln College baseball team went 1-3 over the weekend against conference foe Lincoln Land. The Lynx took the opener in outstanding fashion winning 10-3. In game two, it took 11 innings for Lincoln Land to pull out the 2-1 victory despite great pitching performances from freshman Cody Bolen (Emden, IL) who went nine strong innings allowing only a single run. Although Lincoln got out of a bases loaded, no-out situation with the heart of of the LLCC order at the plate in the 10th, they couldn’t push another run across before eventually losing in the 11th inning 2-1.
In games three and four, the Lynx bats stayed asleep with a total of 11 hits on the day losing 6-1 and 2-0. Andrew Bietenduval (Cincinatti, OH) took the complete game loss in the 2-0 game. LC head coach Tony Thomas said, “Our pitching and defense was outstanding all week, but our offense could not come up with any run support after game 1.”
The next two scheduled games on Wednesday and Thursday of this week have already been canceled due to weather.

Lynx Baseball Improves to 5-2
Hannibal, MO – Lincoln College baseball team improved to 5-2 overall with an 8-0 shutout victory over Hannibal-LaGrange. The Lynx got quality performances on the mound in a 9-inning shutout using four different pitchers giving up four hits and four walks while striking out 11. Cody Bolen (Emden, IL) got the win improving to 3-0 on the young season. Anthony Jerral (Fort Wayne, IN), Chance Simpson (Lewistown, IL), and Ryan Rickert (Fort Wayne, IN) helped preserve the shutout. Offensively, Cody Litwiller (Eureka, IL) continued his hot streak going 2-for-2 with a double and three walks and TJ Carter (Delavan, IL) went 3-for-5 with a double. All together, the Lynx scored eight runs on 11 hits with six extra-base hits.
The Lynx will play in their home opener on Saturday, March 23 at Galen Shirley field at 1:00pm in a doubleheader against conference foe Lincoln Land Community College.

LC Baseball Finish Florida Spring Trip 4-2
The Lincoln College baseball team wrapped up its Florida spring trip with a 4-2 record. While down in Florida, Lincoln took on Delta, MI, Brooklyn, NY, and Kishwaukee, IL.

Kenny May Signs Scholarship with Quincy University
Lincoln, IL – Kenny May (Belleville East HS), a sophomore on Lincoln College’s baseball team, signed a letter of intent with Quincy University today. Kenny was an All-Conference and All-Region selection as a freshman last year. He was also one of the NJCAA Player’s of the week. In 51 games, he hit .426 and had 28 RBI’s. Not only did he play in the infield, he also pitched 23 innings and with an 1.14 ERA with 27 strikeouts.
