Crystal WurthCoach Wurth is entering her second season as head coach of the Lady Lynx softball program at Lincoln College. She has been the pitching coach and assistant for Lincoln College Program for 6 seasons prior to taking over as head coach at LC.

Crystal grew up in Lincoln, Illinois and attended Lincoln Community High School and Lincoln College. While at LC she lettered in volleyball and softball. Crystal then transferred to Webster University in St. Louis where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education with a minor in history and political science. She also lead the Webster softball team to two consecutive NCAA tournaments. Her overall individual pitching record while at WU was 52-11. Crystal was the team MVP for 2001 and 2002.

Since college, Crystal has been coaching local pitchers for the past nine years.  Coach Wurth is working on her Master’s Degree in Liberal and Integrative Studies with an emphasis is Social History at the University of Illinois at Springfield. She teaches Sociology and PE, and is the LC campus photographer.

Crystal resides in Beason, Illinois with her husband Lewis and sons Aden, Brenden and daughter Madisen.

Assistant Coach: Randy Lercher

Lincoln College recently announced the hiring of Randy Lercher as assistant softball coach. 

Lercher is a native of Lincoln, IL where he graduated from Lincoln Community High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College focusing on Business Management.  Lercher is entering his first year as the Offensive Coach for the Lady Lynx.

He is well known for his contributions to the game of softball in Lincoln.  He has coached at Lincoln Junior High School for 8 seasons and was the assistant varsity softball coach at Lincoln Community High School from 2002-2008. He also was the President of the Lincoln Chill Program from 1999-2005 and coached within the program from 1999-2006.  Lercher’s experience, background and knowledge of the game will be a welcome addition to the LC softball coaching staff. 

Lercher resides in Athens, IL and is currently working for the Army National Guard.  He has 2 children:  James Lercher and Desirae Lercher of Lincoln.  Desirae played softball and was raised playing in Lincoln at the local schools and within the Lincoln Chill Program.  She holds multiple pitching records at Lincoln Community High School and also pitched for the Lady Lynx.  Currently, Desirae is working on her RN at ISU- Mennonite School of Nursing.
