Lynx Online

Submission Guidelines

Lincoln College students who would like their work to be considered for publication in Lynx Online, an online magazine of student writing at Lincoln College which is posted on the Lincoln College website, please read and follow these instructions.

Once works are accepted, students will be asked to re-submit electronic versions of their approved writing by way of email attachments or diskettes.

To be considered for publication submit (separately for each kind of work):

  • 3-5 poems.
  • 1 short story.
  • 1 academic essay.
  • 1 feature article or sample of sports journalism.

Include in the upper left-hand corner of the first page of each submitted work:

  • Name (as you wish it to be printed).
  • Campus address and/or home/permanent address.
  • Campus extension and all pertinent telephone numbers.
  • E-mail address(es).

Submit work with a cover letter that:

  • Repeats all necessary contact information (see above).
  • Expresses your wish to be published in Lynx Online.
  • Gives title(s) of each submitted work.
  • Verifies that your work is original and has never been published.
  • Grants permission to post your work online at the Lincoln College website.
  • Grants one-time rights for such publication, as copyright reverts to you.
  • Grants the editors permission to make slight changes or corrections to your work.
  • Contains your signature.

Submit cover letter and writings for consideration in an envelope addressed to:
Kathleen Kirk, Dooley Hall Office D (or campus mailbox).

Work will be read by Creative Writing editor Kathleen Kirk, Academic Writing editor, Jeris Livengood, Sports & Feature Journalism editor, Thomas Baer, and Editor at Large, Jen Ciaccio.
