What do you like about Bloomington/Normal area?
It’s a great college town. Between the sporting events, music, theatre, great restaurants and festivals- you are never at a loss for things to do!
How is LCN different from other colleges and universities?
The students, faculty and staff are what distinguish LCN from other colleges. Everyone is focused on helping the students reach their academic and personal development goals.
Some great hints for prospective LCN students.
- Don’t let the application process intimidate you. There are many resources and people eager to help.
- College is the most important investment that you will ever make – and it is an investment in yourself. Take the search process seriously, spend time honestly considering what you want out of your college experience as well as what you hope to contribute.
- Get to know your admission counselor and ask lots of questions.
- You can only tell so much about a college from its website. Invest in the time to visit as many college campuses as you can. Each campus has a different flavor, feel and draw to different types of students.
How is LCN different from other colleges and universities?
- The students, faculty and staff are what distinguish LCN from other colleges. There is a very friendly atmosphere here. Everyone is focused on helping the students reach their academic and personal development goals.
- LCN’s small size allows faculty and other campus leaders to be accessible to all students, but students still are able to enjoy the amenities of a large university thanks to our close proximity and unique relationship w/ ISU.
- Every prospective student should know how unique this place really is. The faculty will challenge and support you as you learn and experience new things.

What do you like about the Bloomington/Normal area?
I love how it has all the amenities of a large town, with a small town feel. I always lived in the country growing up, so living in town was something that I was not used to. There is plenty to do and see, and the Bloomington-Normal area has many events throughout the year that are free (or really cheap) for the public. My husband and I love to go to the Farmer’s Market with our dog on Saturday. The new dollar theater is a real treat for starving college students. Plus, the mall, various shops and boutiques, and fabulous restaurants are hopping almost 24/7!
One thing every prospective LCN student should know?
We are here for you! No question is too small, no problem too big. As your Admission Counselor, consider me a key to the door of Lincoln College-Normal. Let me help you unlock it!
How is LCN different from other colleges and universities?
Having attended several colleges myself, LCN gives students an opportunity to thrive in an environment that most colleges can’t match. From small class sizes to apartment style living, LCN is a total package!
How has LCN changed you?
I ended up at LCN by accident. I grew up in a small rural town and upon finishing my Associate degree I traveled to a university, which was not a good fit for me. Once I realized that I really didn’t want to be in a class with more people than my hometown population, I looked into LCN. From the beginning, I felt like I belonged there. The staff and faculty of LCN have always been there for me – in the good times and the bad. I am a better person because of my experience here, and I can’t wait to give you that same experience.

What do you like about the Bloomington/Normal area?
I like that Bloomington/Normal is a bigger city but still has a “small town” feel.
One thing every prospective LCN student should know?
LCN faculty and staff are truly dedicated to the success of their students. The small class sizes allow for professors to give students personalized attention as well as an interactive classroom experience.
How is LCN different from other colleges and universities?
In addition to the devoted faculty, LCN offers a great alternative to typical dormitory-style living arrangements found on other campuses. At LCN, you can live on-campus in spacious, furnished apartments that are a short walk to the main Academic building.
