Lincoln College-Normal Offers Certificate in Dental Services Management
February 10, 2009
Normal, IL. – Lincoln College —Normal (LCN), will begin offering a new degree program – the Certificate in Dental Services Management – beginning in April. Part of the Accelerated Bridge to Education (ABE) program, students will benefit from the hybrid teaching format – including online, evening, and weekend classes – allowing them to learn during the times that are most convenient.
Students enrolled in the certificate program develop skills in accounting, marketing, management, problem-solving, insurance reimbursement, human resources and communication. All of which are important skills in today’s dental practices.
The program was developed in response to feedback from dentists – many of whom expressed a need to further develop well-qualified office managers, as well as dental professionals. As well as dental professionals, including hygienists, office assistants and receptionists who were seeking to advance their own careers, but struggled to balance the demands of college with a job and family. The program is 18 credit hours, can be completed in less than a year, and incorporates recommendations from members of the Illinois Dental Association’s Education Committee. Program features include:
- Financial Accounting
- Principles of Management
- Health Care Marketing
- Fundamentals of Dental Practice Management
- Training on the most popular dental software programs
The course culminates with an applied practical project where students have an opportunity to employ classroom knowledge in real life situations at area dental practices.
Students of the Dental Services Management certificate program also have the option of enrolling in one elective course offered at the Lincoln College – Normal campus.
We look forward to talking to you about the Certificate in Dental Services Management and how it can help you achieve your goals.
