TERRY LOWE EARNS SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION
Normal, Ill. – Terry Lowe, an instructor at LC-N, recently earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He is an adjunct professor of business and industry and coordinator of the college’s Prior Learning Assessment program, and has taught at the college for more than 29 years.
This certification, awarded by the HR Certification Institute, signifies that Lowe possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management to pass a rigorous examination demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge in the field.
"Certification as a human resource professional clearly demonstrates a commitment to personal excellence and to the profession," said Mary Power, CAE, executive director of the HR Certification Institute.
To become certified, an applicant must pass a comprehensive examination. “Terry’s knowledge of the human resource profession and its application in the business world is a great resource for our students. It’s a perfect example of the real-world expertise of our faculty. It’s something the accelerated degree students – most of whom are working professionals themselves - benefit from on a daily basis,” said Pamela Johnston, associate dean of the Accelerated Bridge to Education program.
