Lincoln College-Normal Offering First Online Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management

Normal, Ill. – Lincoln College – Normal (LCN) is pleased to announce it will begin offering a bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The program, the first bachelor’s degree program to be offered by the college completely online, is an exciting evolution in the college’s history. It came as a result of a formal agreement with Illinois Central College administrators to accept ICC students into its Bachelor of Business Administration degree program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

While the college has offered many courses virtually, this is first degree program to be taught entirely online. The new bachelor’s degree is the result of a special agreement with Illinois Central College in Peoria, Illinois. The formal agreement between the two institutions is more commonly referred to as a ‘2+2 agreement,’ allowing students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science in Materials and Logistics Management, to enroll as students at Lincoln College– Normal. Students interested in enrolling in the program must meet certain requirements. Anyone interested should contact their academic advisor or Lincoln College-Normal at 1.800.569.0558 or visit the Web site www.lincolncollege.edu/normal.

The agreement, which was formalized in April, was the culmination of discussions and a great deal of e effort of ICC Associate Dean Matt Herzog and Jeffrey Kratz, Dean of Academic Affairs for Lincoln College-Normal.

When asked about the significance of offering a bachelor’s program online and the agreement with ICC, Dean Kratz said, “While two unique institutions, we share a common desire to help our students realize their goal of a greater measure of success through education.  Both institutions also have a common interest in meeting the needs of adult learners and other non-traditional students. By entering into this agreement and by offering the program completely online, we are able to remove even more barriers between students and their goal of a baccalaureate degree.”

In addition to the convenience and flexibility of an online program, one of the other major advantages for students that enroll in a 2+2 program is that it helps to streamline the admissions process when applying to baccalaureate institutions. Because the programs are a collaborative effort, it also helps the student to avoid enrolling in duplicate courses.
