International Service Organization Honors Society Recognizes Dr. Joyce Reed for Forming New Chapter
Normal, Ill. – Dr. Joyce Reed was recognized by Epsilon Sigma Alpha honor society during its international convention. The event was held this past July in Minneapolis, Minn. A longtime faculty member, Dr. Reed teaches Sociology at LCN. She was recognized for her efforts to start a new chapter at the LCN campus.
Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) International was founded in 1929 and is a powerful network that brings good people together to accomplish good things in the local, national, and global communities. According to the organization, the letters E.S.A. stand for Education, Service, and Association. ESA's unique programs provide each member with the training, education, and support they need to promote successful public service, while developing personal and professional skills in management, public relations, and overall leadership.
Tau Tau, the LCN chapter, consists of alumni and current students enrolled in the Accelerated Bridge to Education (ABE) program for adult learners. It was chartered this past February and installed as a chapter during the ESA Illinois State Board meeting held the following month in Bloomington, Ill.
Current Tau Tau chapter initiatives include a “Doggie Daze of Summer” fundraiser with proceeds benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Second Chance dog shelter in Clinton, Illinois. Anyone interested in joining or supporting the fundraiser should contact Dr. Reed at jreed@lincolncollege.edu or 309.268.4309.
