What drew her to LCN: A busy mom with a full time job, Debbie valued the flexibility the Lincoln College-Normal ABE program could offer. Learn more about the ABE program.
Favorite class: Philosophy with Jeff Kratz who challenged her to “think more about things I had never even dreamed of.”
Family: Her husband, Joe Hanchett; her daughter, 21-year-old Heather, who studies Graphic Design at Heartland Community College; and son, 18-year-old Ben, a music education student at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
Work: Debbie works as Crop Underwriter at Country Financial.
Future goal: Exploring new opportunities with Country Financial and possibly attending graduate school.
Best advice you could give to a new student: “Do the work and the grade will come.”
