The Sweetest Swing in Baseball Opens February 28 at Lincoln College

Lincoln, IL - February 12, 2008 -Lincoln College Theatre Department opens the first spring performance of the season with the drama The Sweetest Swing in Baseball on Thursday, February 28.

The Sweetest Swing in Baseball, written by Rebecca Gilman, is a drama which opens with a successful artist, Dana Fielding, who experiences a disastrous gallery showing. With her personal life in shambles, the artist finds safety in a psychiatric hospital but her insurance company will only pay for ten days. In desperate need of a more hospital-worthy illness, Dana pretends to believe she is former baseball player Darryl Strawberry. With hilarious dialogue and rich characters, viewers will experience the state of health insurance, the legacy of fame, and ways in which we re-craft our identity.

Show time is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 28, Friday, February 29, and Saturday, March 1, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2.
