Lincoln, IL – May 7, 2008– Lincoln College softball player Carla Passini of Standard has been selected to the first team Region 24 team. Lincoln College Head Softball Coach John Andrews was selected by his peers for the Coach of the Year honor. In the All Conference category Passini was named to the first team, Gabrielle Niewinski of Wheaton was named on the second team and Kayla Williams of Rock Island got an honorable mention.
Lincoln College Softball Coach John Andrews said he’s pleased with the recognition that his team is receiving. “Carla is certainly deserving of this award, she is very athletic and is always aware of what is going on in the game. All of the girls have great softball instincts and they are all academically sound,” said Andrews.
Teammate Samantha Rapp of Plainfield was named to the All-Tourney Team for the Midwest Athletic Conference.
The Lady Lynx ended their season over the weekend with a loss to Heartland Community College and Lewis and Clark.
